Artist Statement

Painting is a wonderful experience for me. I find over the years the more I paint the more I discover my inner feelings about life. It is difficult to explain how a piece of canvas and a few tubes of paint with a handful of brushes can become transformed into a powerful painting. Somehow this experience transforms me into someone who is non negative but a very positive feeling and thinking being.

I enjoy this feeling of excitement when I paint and whatever the subject may be it always becomes a challenge. Nature and landscapes keeps me amazed by all the beauty it creates and I find the similarity in portrait painting. Each person is unique and beautiful with various planes and valleys of face and body. I enjoy painting both these challenging subjects.

Painting has become an unending variety of subjects and this is what I feel is so important to me. It is my life.
